The General Assembly is the supreme body of the Association, which determines the main principles that guide the Association's activities, approves the reports of the Governing and Supervisory Boards, and executes other activities in accordance with the Association's Statute and the Bulgarian legislation.
The National Council is a body of the Association, empowered to act during two consecutive meetings of the General Assembly. It defines the working guidelines of the Governing Board and its Permanent Commissions, performs the General Assembly’s functions during its meetings, accepts the working programme of the Association, admits new members, and defends the interests of the BICA members in its relations with the respective national and international bodies. It decides for the Association to open branches, to participate in other organisations, elects and appoints Secretary General. The National Council reports its activities to the Supreme Council.
Permanent Commissions to the National Council were created to discuss important for the members of the BICA topics. Each of them issues decision projects, statements and proposals on the matters of its competence.
The Governing Board organizes and provides the implementation of the General Assembly’s and the National Council’s decisions. It reports its activities to the Supreme Council, and during two meetings of the Supreme Council – to the National Council. It elaborates and proposes guidelines for BICA's development, develops and submits to the General Assembly budget and report on BICA’s activities.
The Supervisory Board is a body of the General Assembly, which carries out regular inspections over the activities of BICA main bodies. It controls the implementation of the General Assembly decisions by the Governing Board, the Presidium and the Secretary General.
The Secretary General manages BICA’s activities in accordance with the decisions of its main bodies, leads BICA staff, takes care for the Association's property, etc.
